Sponsor Spotlight: Tighthead Brewing Company

Another one of our amazing beer sponsors for this year’s Wedtoberfest is Tighthead Brewing Company. They are a craft brewery located in Mundelein, a suburb just outside of Chicago. Their lively brewpub is a neighborhood institution where friends and families can meet up and enjoy great music, wonderful company, and the best beer in town. They’ve been around since 2011, and they’ve proudly poured their heart and soul into every glass. We’re definitely into that. Read a little more about them below.

A little bit of their background: Tighthead Brewing Company was founded by Owner/Brewer Bruce Dir, a long time home brewer and Siebel Institute graduate, and began production in the fall of 2011.  The production brewery and tap room are located adjacent to the Metra train station in Mundelein, Illinois and produce quality ales and lagers for all seasons.  Tighthead’s Comfortably Blonde Ale, Scarlet > Fire Red Ale, Chilly Water Pale Ale, Irie IPA and Boxcar Porter are currently being distributed along with many seasonal beers throughout Lake County and all of Northern Illinois. Their Tap room typically features up to 16 beers on tap, many of which are seasonal beers and are only available in the tap room by the pint or growler. Tighthead Brewery’s approach is two-fold, to brew quality beer is a must, but they also want to turn as many people on to as many craft beer styles as they can.

If you could choose just two Tighthead Brewing beers to provide at a couple’s wedding, what would they be and why?  Irie IPA and Scarlet>Fire, they are my two favorite and two of the three that we went to market with when we opened.

What sets Tighthead Brewing apart from other local Chicago breweries?  Our variety… we do a wide range of beer styles (about 45 over 4 years) and they are all done very well.

Tell us about some new and exciting upcoming projects.  We have owned a canning line since March and we will have it up and running 16 oz cans this Fall.  We were draft only for 3 years, so this will be a big change for us.

Why are you excited to be a sponsor for Wedtoberfest?  We have done the last two, and I like participating in new and creative events, like Webtoberfest!  The same old beer fest, tap takeover can get old, so I like the concept a lot!

With autumn just around the corner, what beer would be a nice seasonal option to serve at a fall wedding? Octoberfest, Dopplebock, and we do a Sweet Potato ale that is a great fall/winter beer.

Prost, Tighthead Brewing Company! We are so excited to sample your delicious beers on September 17th at Studio Manarchy. We are only two weeks away from the grand event, so make sure to purchase your tickets while you still can!
