Wedtoberfest is lucky enough to have some returning beer sponsors, and Tighthead Brewing Company is one of them! They are a craft brewery located in Mundelein, a northern suburb just outside of Chicago. Their lively brewpub is a neighborhood institution where friends and families can meet up to enjoy great music and the best beer in town. They’ve been in the business since 2011, and they’ve put their heart and soul into every glass. Read a little more about them below.
A little bit of their background: Tighthead Brewing Company was founded by Owner/Brewer Bruce Dir, a long time home brewer and Siebel Institute graduate, and began production in the fall of 2011. The production brewery and tap room are located adjacent to the Metra train station in Mundelein, Illinois and produce quality ales and lagers for all seasons. Their Tap room typically features up to 16 beers on tap, many of which are seasonal beers and are only available in the tap room by the pint or growler. Tighthead Brewery’s approach is two-fold, to brew quality beer is a must, but they also want to turn as many people on to as many craft beer styles as they can.
As part of their biggest news this year, they began to package some more of their beers in 16 oz / 4 packs in April and it has been very successful. They also expanded their tap room to include space for events, parties and dedicated space for live music. They will be celebrating their 5 year anniversary in December, so that will be a noteworthy party this winter.
Make sure to come out to Wedtoberfest next Thursday, September 22nd to hang out with the people from Tighthead Brewing! You’ll get to drink their awesome beer along with many others. Buy tickets here if you haven’t already!
