Austin is known for its eclectic music scene and the boutique Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt is the perfect representation of this unique city, its residents, and its travelers. The distinguished but laid back feeling of the hotel is a great backdrop for events and weddings. From multiple event spaces, to chic hang out spots, to a stunning rooftop, this hotel will cater to all of your guests for a great experience.
This year, we are excited to have the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt a part of Austin Wedtoberfest so they can share all the chic, cool details about their hotel with you! Learn a little more about the hotel below and check out a few photos from one of their recent weddings that is full of good vibes (Photos by: Amber Vickery Photography). We especially love the warm hues and unique photo possibilities!

What style of beer is the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt?
The Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt would most identify with a Porter. Dark features, complex yet balanced profile and a go-to for those “in the know,” this type of beer has a lot of similarities to our style. Our deep color palette, stylish yet playful personality and reputation as one of Austin’s most authentic experiences aligns us in a similar fashion. Lastly, no one orders a Porter for unconscious speed consumption, instead, you order one to sit back, enjoy, take in the details and appreciate every last bit, just like us!
Please tell us about a recent piece of work that you are really proud of!
Kimpton has long been a major supporter of the LGBTQ community and this past Austin Pride, we took our support to a whole new level. This year, we held our first Drag Brunch, which directly benefitted The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth. The event, which we called “Don’t be a Drag Just Be a Queen,” featured Ginger Minj as the Drag Queen with music by DJ Jen Dm of Hi Fashion and performances by Kelly Kline, Ka’aliyah McKim Diamond, and Jorgeous. Raising around $25,000, we were proud to not only raise awareness, but an impressive amount of funds to contribute to a cause that our entire team is extremely passionate about. The fact that we were able to put together such a stylish, fun and buzz-worthy event embodies the true persona of our hotel and our staff.
What other news does Kimpton have to share?
Kimpton is launching a brand-new guest experience called “Off The Record” and it kicks off at the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt on March 16th. A collection of 16 performances at Kimpton hotels around the nation, these limited, intimate setting shows will create heartfelt human connections to the Kimpton experience through carefully chosen acts and tickets for each event will help raise support for a social cause.
